Putin has four military exercise going on all at the same time right now (1) in Belarus (2) in Russia (3) in the newly annexed Crimea and (4) in the Black Sea. People are saying that the Black Sea is stuffed to the brim with Russian Warships and one can't sail through the Black Sea without meeting a Russian Warship on the prowl. But the reason why everyone thinks Putin is going to invade is that Putin has been providing military grade weapons to the eastern Ukraine terrorists who have been fighting with the Ukrainian Army to overthrow the Ukrainian government for the last 8 years. You have to be really dense to not realize Putin's Russia wants nothing more than to annex all of the Ukraine and make the USSR and the KGB great again. It's Soviet Style back to the future where Putin McFly gets to be a Re-Do Communist where USSR never was dissolved and the Soviet Era Eastern Block Communist States never went NATO ...not that any Neo Conservative Republican would care since we have a Democrat Party President. In all honesty, NATO has also been pulling the same excuse for decades against non-NATO countries. There is no good or bad in the whole NATO vs Russia situation, both are equally as gray. However, Russia is definetly the bad one in the whole eastern Ukraine situation.

Wrong. There is a good and bad when it comes to NATO vs Russia. When NATO or the USA does joint military exercises its normally smaller and limited in region so it can't be seen as a prelude to an invasion. The multiple Russian exercises is seen as a full scale military encirclement deployment/campaign against the Ukraine. The reason a Russian invasion is suspected is because Russia previously invaded and annexed part of the Ukraine 8 years ago to secure the seaport of Crimea. And for the last 8 years, Russia's Putin has been backing eastern Ukraine rebel/terrorist who are bent on overthrowing the Ukraine government by force. That unto itself is rather unfriendly. However, Bad or Good, Russia has the military advantage over the Ukraine ... IMHO only an OP military genius could save the Ukraine from a Russian invasion.

Was going to say that myself. There's no better way to have your troops near your borders than to say you're performing drills. Although your neighbours might get nervous if you suddenly deploy thousands of soldiers and munitions near their national borders, particularly if you've got a history of annexing part of their territory.

Thats for sure. Recently the Army from my country and the army of Neighbouring country had a little shoot out and some people died on both sides. And guess what was the cover up?
"People died durinh Joint exercise camp accident" and everyone pretended like it never happened. So yes, that actually an failproof excuse.
